One Team: Two areas of Precision Care

Pinpoint Radiotherapy
Who we are
Pinpoint Radiotherapy is a Melbourne-based, specialist-led service delivering two forms of precision care: advanced Stereotactic Radiotherapy for cancer, and pioneering Low-Dose Radiotherapy for osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis, and other musculoskeletal pain. Both services are led by the same team of radiation oncologists, using the same advanced technology and quality assurance processes, because precision shouldn't depend on what's being treated.
Clinical governance is provided by radiation oncologists, supported by a multidisciplinary team of radiation therapists, medical physicists and specialist nursing staff. All care is delivered within accredited radiotherapy facilities, using structured planning systems, standardised protocols and established quality assurance processes, so every patient receives the same rigour and care, across both services.

A Pioneer in Radiation
Oncology
Dr Patrick Bowden
MBBS, FRANZCR
Radiation Oncologist

With over 20 years of experience as a radiation oncologist, Dr Patrick Bowden is a leading expert in the field of advanced radiation therapy. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Melbourne in 1994. His oncology career began at the prestigious Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, where he became Director of the Tattersall’s Cancer Centre. Dr Bowden has been instrumental in building some of the nation’s most advanced radiotherapy services, including his role as the inaugural Director of Epworth Radiation Oncology, where he established Australia’s largest stereotactic radiation therapy service.
Dr Bowden’s expertise is not just clinical but also academic. He has been the principal investigator in numerous groundbreaking clinical trials, including the TRANSFORM study, which evaluated the efficacy of stereotactic radiation therapy for oligometastatic prostate cancer. This was the largest trial ever conducted in the world on this disease. His work continues to shape the future of radiation oncology, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and advancing cancer care.
A New
Generation of Precision Care
Dr Paul Conway
BHlthSci, GradDipHlthSci (MSK Mgmt), MBBS (Hons), FRANZCR
Radiation Oncologist

Dr Paul Conway is a rising star in radiation oncology, providing compassionate, patient-centred care across both cancer treatment and low-dose radiotherapy for joint and tendon pain. He completed his general medical training (MBBS), graduating with First Class Honours in 2013, before undertaking specialty Radiation Oncology training and becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2021. He received further sub-specialty training during a two-year fellowship under Dr Pat Bowden, focused on advanced techniques including stereotactic radiotherapy in the management of urologic and metastatic disease, and the two now work together, combining their expertise to benefit patients. He is trained and credentialed in the CyberKnife system, and in 2025 treated Australia's first CyberKnife prostate cancer patient at 5D Clinics Melbourne.
Dr Conway is committed to staying at the forefront of radiation oncology, actively researching next-generation PET imaging and novel tracer technology to pinpoint disease with greater precision and sharpen treatment planning, and with ongoing follow up of the TRANSFORM trial, the world's largest study of stereotactic radiotherapy for oligometastatic prostate cancer. Alongside his oncology practice, dedicated postgraduate training in musculoskeletal management now sees him lead Pinpoint's low-dose radiotherapy service for osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis and tendinopathies. Across both fields, his work is guided by one belief: give patients evidence-based information and a personalised plan, so they feel confident and supported at every step.
